In today's post, I would like to share something that is quite funny to be mentioned yet, it is an unusual FACT! :-D If you have a phobia on cockroaches, you MUST READ this!
Could cockroaches save your life?
Yes, according to a team of researchers from the University of Nottingham in the UK. Powerful antibiotic properties in the brains of cockroaches and locusts are able to kill more than 90% of bacteria - intruders that are often deadly to humans, including methicillin-resistant Staphlococcus (MRSA) and pathogenic Escherichia coli - without harming human cells.
These findings, which were presented last year at a meeting in Nottingham of the Society for General Microbiology, could lead to novel treatments for multi-drug-resistant bacteria infections.
*Current Status: Available to the public in 5 to 10 years.
** P/S: Instead of its peculiar fact, as a Muslim we should do some research on this, whether it is allowed (halal) or not. So, in answering to this question, I have to take some time to go through the book of medical Islamic law (Fikah Perubatan by Dr. Harmy Mohd Yusoff - PTS Millenia). And read a lot more books to gain detail information regarding this matter. If you know the answer, your help will be much appreciated.
